guest camcorders

One of my favourite things to do at every wedding I film is to hand out a mini DV camcorder to your guests. It’s such a fun and unique way to capture all those candid, behind the scenes moments that might otherwise go unnoticed or be forgotten. Your guests get the special opportunity to document the day from their own perspective, adding a heartfelt, personal touch to your film that feels genuine and nostalgic. I deliver the footage as a separate video and carefully weave any memorable moments into your main film to create a more intimate story.

What is Mini DV?

Mini DV is a tape video format that was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s. It’s known for its distinct look, with a slightly grainy, nostalgic feel that captures video in a unique, raw way. The footage has a retro vibe that digital cameras just can’t replicate (and I love).

While it may seem old school, there’s something special about the imperfections and charm that come with shooting on an old camcorder. It’s perfect for couples who want something a little different, a little more personal, and a lot more nostalgic.

For Collection 1 and 2, I bring along a camcorder to your wedding at no extra charge, it’s just part of how I like to work. You’ll get any guest footage as a separate video, and I’ll also weave any standout moments into your main wedding film. It’s a fun way to capture all those little, real moments that make the day feel alive.
